We believe that every student is an individual with unique characteristics. It is our goal to work cooperatively with parents to help every student progress in their educational goals.
Burr Oak Community Schools and Burr Oak Virtual Academy are committed to providing special education services to identified students as directed through the IEP (Individual Education Program) process. In collaboration with St. Joseph County ISD and/or purchased services from third-party vendors, the following programming is available: Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, School Social Worker Services, Teacher Consultants for the Visually Impaired and Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Orientation and Mobility (O & M), translators, Braillists, Special Education Supervisors, Teacher Consultant Diagnostic, School Psychologists, and comprehensive evaluations.
